CAA Contemporary Analytical Agency at Argus conference in Moscow

CAA took part in the International Conference “Argus Coal Market of Russia 2020”, which was held on February 20 in Moscow. The event was attended by more than 150 participants from 20 countries, including Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, China, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Switzerland and others.
The conference was sponsored by KRU Overseas, one of the largest international coal traders, supplying high-quality Kuzbassrazrezugol (KRU) coal to the global market.
Argus Coal Market of Russia 2020 brought together major producers and consumers of Russian coal, global traders, as well as representatives of metallurgical and energy industries, shipping and stevedoring business, financial sector and others.
Within the conference, the delegates discussed medium- and long-term shifts in the global energy balance, forecasts for global coal demand, price trends and the influence of these factors on the Russian coal exports.
The Russian Ministry of Energy presented the outlook of the Russian coal industry until 2035.
The participants of Argus conference discussed the key prospects for the exports of Russian coal to the Asia-Pacific region and the impact of the coronavirus on the Chinese coal market.
One of the key topics of the conference was the issues of rail tariffs, transport and seaport infrastructure in Russia. The panelists shared their views over the prospects for Russian coal exports in light of the increasing costs of transportation and handling.
The conference also highlighted the development of the coal industry and attracting investment in new projects.
